So with Reach, CE, 2, 3, and Infinite all having something different than 4 with the art style, I'd prefer all of 4 getting an aesthetic overhaul - that said, the H4 AR is super faithful & the Railgun fits the classic aesthetic imo. I'm really not a fan of Halo 4's art style personally but I appreciate parts of its plot (Cortana/Chief stuff Forerunner stuff not so much) & I feel like you can more or less go from 4 straight to Infinite without needing to even acknowledge 5, just pretending at some point, Cortana went bad.
